“To glorify God by becoming like Christ and proclaiming His truth.”
Living Word Christian Church was planted as a church in the Fall of 2002. LWCC is affiliated with British Columbia Baptist Conference and Baptist General Conference of Canada. We meet on Sundays at Willoughby, the heart of Langley Township. We journey as one family of God who celebrate our unity in Christ and respect our rich diversity as individuals.
Living Word Christian Church is a caring congregation of believers worshipping together in Langley. Because we have received the gift of new life in Christ and are recipients of His grace, we want to create a place where people feel loved and accepted, where people are honored, and where our challenges in life are ministered.
Christian life starts when a person accepts Jesus as their Saviour and continuing on until His return, all through His Amazing Grace!
We believe that the primary purpose of the church is to glorify God (Eph. 3:21). We worship the true living God by living His will and purposes in our lives. We gather as a body of Christ on Sundays to "Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; and to worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness." Psalm 29:2.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF LIVING WORD
God gave the challenge to Pastor Gilbert and three families in July 28, 2002, to plant a church in Langley. Two and a half months later, October 20, 2002, the first public worship was held at Timms Community Center. On January 5, 2003, Brookswood Baptist Church generously opened their door for the young church and the regular Sunday Worship in the afternoon started. LWCC acquired a property at Willoughby in October 2010, where the current morning service is being held.
